Adobe Patches Critical Bugs in Flash, Reader, Acrobat
Adobe has released a number of patches for critical vulnerabilities in several of its more popular applications, including Flash, Reader and Acrobat.
The most severe of the vulnerabilities that Adobe fixed Tuesday is a flaw in Flash that is being used in targeted attacks right now through maliciously crafted Web pages. That bug is present in Flash on all of the major platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris and Android. Attackers could use this flaw to execute arbitrary code on remote machines, Adobe said.
In addition to the Flash patch, Adobe also released a critical update for Reader X and Acrobat that fixes a bug on Windows and OS X that could allow remote code execution. The company also pushed out fixes for a critical flaw in Shockwave and fixes for important vulnerabilities in ColdFusion and LiveCycle and BlazeDS.
This is the second patch for Flash in the last 10 days. On June 5, Adobe released an emergency fix for a vulnerability in Flash that reportedly is being used in targeted attacks against users.
