Microsoft Plans No Critical Patches for September

Microsoft plans on issuing just five bulletins in the September edition of Patch Tuesday. The patch, set to come out September 14, will address vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, Office, and Server Software.

With all five bulletins receiving ‘important’ ratings, this marks the first time in more than a year that a Patch Tuesday release has not included at least one critically rated bulletin. Three of the bulletins that Microsoft will ship in September are meant to fix vulnerabilities that can result in remote code execution. The other two can only result in privilege escalation.

Microsoft will also host a webcast September 14 at 11:00 AM Pacific Time, addressing customer questions and concerns regarding the patch.
