Wire Fraud



Upwards of 30 major U.S. banks and financial institutions have been given a reprieve. The hacker behind a coordinated attack against giants such as Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, PNC, Wells Fargo and nearly two dozen other banks has called off the operation after media reports surfaced a month ago exposing the planned attacks.

A student at New York’s Rochester Institute of Technology
(RIT) has been arrested for producing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of
fake coupons and posting them to 4chan and other websites.

Lucas Henderson, a 22-year old computer security student
from Lubbock, Texas was charged with wire fraud and trafficking counterfeit
goods when he turned himself into a Rochester, New York federal court on
Wednesday.

Fifty-three individuals were charged today in connection with
widespread, sophisticated identity theft and fraud, including 43
individuals charged with participating in one large-scale criminal
enterprise, United States Attorney Paul J. Fishman and FBI Special Agent
