Microsoft Issues Kill Fix For Windows Gadgets
A scheduled talk at the Black Hat Briefings security conference in Las Vegas later this month may have dealt a fatal blow to the once ballyhooed Windows Sidebar and Windows Gadgets. Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft, on Tuesday, issued a software “fix” that disables gadgets and the Windows sidebar on Vista and Windows 7 entirely.


This only proves, once again, why I distrust ATM’s in particular. I sincerely hope banks in general will take this guys advice seriously… I miss the good ol’ days when most ATM thefts involved a sledge or some form of mild explosive… That or a hit and run with a car. Now you can just pair the first method using proper timing and the guy is going to be able to leave with a stack of 100′s without most people knowing before he has long since left – Just grand…
