Facebook Announces Hacker’s Cup

Social networking Web site Facebook has announced that they will begin accepting registrations for the 2011 Hacker Cup, the first annual programming and puzzle solving contest open to software engineers, programmers, puzzle solvers and assorted hackers from around the world.

FTC Pushes “Do Not Track” Option For Web Browsers

The Federal Trade Commission introduced a framework today that aims to address privacy issues raised by consumers that directly affects how our activity is tracked online. The agency went on to advocate the creation of a “Do Not Track” mechanism that could help shape the future of browser security.


In an effort to better weigh the security of cloud-based infrastructures, the Cloud Security Alliance has released a new toolkit, the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) Stack. Available as a free download on the organization’s website, the collection consists of three tools: CloudAudit, the Cloud Controls Matrix and the Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire.

Google is planning to overhaul its main privacy policy in an effort to make the document more readable and usable for normal people. In addition, Google also is eliminating privacy policies for some of its individual products and services, which it deemed redundant.
