    Here are VeriSign our message is clear: The IRS and the US Government DO NOT send email.  They like paper.  Lots of snail mail correspondence.   And please remember if you are filing online to find a reputable service that offers high level security through encryption such as extended validation SSL.  Last year the IRS gov site posted a list with links of their pre-approved online filing sites.   Be safe with your information.
