RSA 2009: ‘History Repeats Itself’

By David Mortman
I am very excited to be guest blogging about RSA here on Threatpost. A special thank you to Dennis and Ryan for the privilege.

I am also  very excited to once again be speaking at RSA this year. Last year, I was on a panel with Mike Rothman, Rich Mogull, Martin McKeay and Ron Woerner titled “Avoiding Another Security Groundhog Day”. The main theme of our panel was how could we as security practitioners move forward with protecting our customers while avoiding the sins of the past.

Given the breadth of the topic you will be unsurprised to learn that we didn’t cover all the material that we wanted to. Fortunately, the panel was received and RSA has graciously allowed the five of us to return and present again on the same topic this year. Amongst the topics we’ll be covering are compliance, “The Cloud”, transitioning to management and making security relevant to the business.

This year the talk is titled: “Lessons Learned: Security “Groundhog Day” — History Repeats itself”, and if you are lucky, we may even have some Sonny and Cher music for you to listen to. But to find out, you’ll have to come to the talk.

We go live at 4:10PM Tuesday in Purple Room 302. Hope, I see you there.
