China, once one of the worlds’s leading spam-producers, is at long last beginning to curb its spam output. Cisco Systems’ IronPort group ranks the nation 18th on its list of spam-producing countries, according to this piece from the IDG News Service.
Other security firms have noted a similar decline in spam from the PRC. Sophos ranks the nation 20th when it comes to spam today, a far cry from January of 2009, when it was third on the list. The United States still takes the spam crown though, retaining its status as the top-spamming country and the origin of a fifth of the world’s spam, according to Sophos. Read more at InfoWorld.
