In the wake of the release of a penetration testing tool called Modlishka that shows how easy it is to bypass login protections for accounts protected by mainstream two-factor authentication (2FA), the tool’s author in his write-up asked, “is 2FA broken?” It’s a provocative question, so we asked authentication experts what they thought. Now, we’d like to hear from you, dear reader.

    One of the problems 2FA is facing is applying the second factor from the same device; I log in with my secure laptop, and use my phone for 2FA. There is a bigger issue when you are using your smart phone to log into secure sites. Smart phones can not be trusted.
